intro: who & why for what

my name is O’Plérou, artist & visual designer, and i explore how narratives, symbols and systems shape human behavior. especially in postcolonial contexts.

looks like a bunch of academic/vague/empty woke stuff? well-
the non BS1 version is “i write to understand why people have shitty lives yet can’t sustainably change anything about it AND want others to join them to maintain this shxt”.

right now my hypothesis is that it’s not done on purpose, but just because most people naturally function on autopilot and don’t question how, why and who programmed that pilot. like how we absolutely promote human reproduction like an MLM where kids give purpose, who then find purpose through having kids, who then find purpose through having kids...

so we tend to run on inherited worldviews and rules presented as neutral truths.
i’m interested in how those narratives were installed, who they serve, and how they can be rewritten, because being a human sucks for a lot of us and updating our mentalwares is REALLY needed in these ✨unprecedented✨ times.

about the notes

this writing complements my broader work in design and tech but stands on its own.
these notes are thoughts artifacts: attempts to name what’s happening beneath the surface, offer language to people are already living disintegration, and give tools to navigate chaos and build better futures.
